Simple steps in writng poetry

First you need a pen and a notebook. After that you can select a subject for writing. For example as it is Autumn now is a good subject to write about.

So you can start with the word:

Autumn, | and then write something relating to autumn, so

Autumn, rain starts to fall, | then we need something similar to fall,  you can always google something,

i.e. blueball, call, recall, firewall etc. (you can find words here: http://www.morewords.com/ends-with/all/), so,

Autumn, rain starts to fall, |while you are writing you must build upon a theme or an idea
It's time to make that call, |then you can repeat the first word or continue with similar endings, so


Autumn, rain starts to fall,
It's time to make that call,

Autumn, cold is all around, |repeated the first word
I keep waiting for a sound, |kept the same ending (-ound), you could use the same ending in the middle or    
                                         |the start of your lyrics, for example

   in the middle,

Autumn, cold is all around,
I am too old to take it down,

   in the start,

Autumn, cold is all around,
Cotton, warm to keep us out, | so we continue the poem if we put all the lines together we get:



Autumn, rain starts to fall,
It's time to make that call,

Autumn, cold is all around,
I keep waiting for a sound,

Autumn, cold is all around,
I am too old to take it down,

Autumn, cold is all around,
Cotton, warm to keep us out.
